Meet Jun

With a passion for private equity and a concentration in Business Analytics and Finance, Jun Sun joined ScaleCo as a Summer Intern in June of 2021. Jun is currently attending The University of Pennsylvania and is expected to graduate in 2024. He found ScaleCo through an internship search on Searchfunder and interviewed for a position on the team with ScaleCo’s Operating Partner, Ryan Addis. Prior to working with ScaleCo, Jun was looking to gain critical exposure to the private equity industry and learn how business dealings are handled and executed. Jun worked closely with Ryan and the ScaleCo Team throughout the summer. “I was surprised by how friendly and open the team was. Everyone was super relaxed, and willing to teach me if I had any questions. I’d say the work environment was really nice”. During his time at ScaleCo, Jun was responsible for financial modeling, deal origination, market research, and his largest team project, creating a CRM System for a ScaleCo Portfolio Company. His greatest professional passions are process improvement and project innovation. 

Jun’s passion for private equity was reaffirmed after completing his summer internship. He feels his time with ScaleCo exposed him to the lower-middle market, which he now sees with fresh eyes. One of the greatest lessons Jun learned over the summer was how to work effectively on a team. Jun enjoyed learning about how ScaleCo’s efforts can have a massive impact on small to mid-size companies and entrepreneurs.  

Looking Onward

In ten years’, time, Jun sees himself in the private equity space and would like to be an investor for his own deal. Outside of work, Jun enjoys learning about cryptocurrencies, and decentralized finance. Jun successfully completed multiple projects during his summer internship. We wish him luck as he continues his undergraduate education!
